OIKOS is a unique place, where you can experience the everyday life of Ancient Greek Athenians in the 5th cent. B.C.E.

OIKOS is a time-capsule. You are transported to an Athenian house in the 5th century B.C.E. with all the practical, everyday amenities of the era. You can see it, feel it, smell it, taste it and, possibly, hear it.
It is really a unique experience!
You can also enjoy various activities and workshops related to Ancient Greece.
It's also ideal if you only want to declutter for a while from our complex and demanding every-day life. Ancient Greeks lived a simple, minimal material life.
Their priority was the mind.
the house

All the furniture are historically accurate handmade copies of the era. The fabrics are either linen or wool, sheets and towels made by order. In the kitchen you can find most of the staples of the era and recipies to cook ancient Greek food. The utensils, cutlery and recipients are made of clay and wood, and are handmade copies of the ancient ones. Taking a bath? you can clean your body with olive oil and scrape it with a strigil!
You can be an ancient Greek during your sojourn, enjoy a symposium and play some music, or board games!
what
to know
There are of course compromises to be made, for hygiene and safety purposes (or 21st century traveler’s needs), but you can either use these or block them out.
Do not expect comfortable beds and mattresses or a coffee machine...
There is central heating, electricity and wi-fi, hot water, Air Conditioner, a refrigerator a stove and cooking oven and contemporary cooking pots.
Food Markets are very close, and there is a street food market every Wednesday.
